The functions of geotextiles are divided into five categories: Filtration ,separation,drainage, protection and reinforcement, stabilization.
Geotextile fabrics come in three basic forms: woven geotextiles, non-woven geotextiles (needle punched), or heat bonded geotextiles (resembling ironed felt).
